The Karakoram mountains range

Karakoram mountain range is a large mountain range. This mountain range is spread in three countries Pakistan, India and China. Location of this range is in Gilgit-Baltistan (Pakistan), Ladakh (India) and Xinjiang (China). This range is called greater range of Asia.

This range is home of high peaks. The mighty K2 (8611 m) second highest peak of the world is part of this range, located in Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan.

Karakoram mountains range

This range is about 500 km in length, and is covered with snow. This range is most heavily glaciated part of the world. The Siachen glacier at 70 km and the Biafo glacier at 63 km is also part of this mighty mountain range and rank as the worlds second and third longest glaciers outside the polar regions. Almost 28-50 % of this range is glaciated.

The mighty K2 Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan

K2 also know as "Mount Godwin-Austen" is the second highest montain on the Earth.It is located on the border Between Baltistan and Tashkurgan,Xinjiang china.The range of this mountain is Karakoram.As second highest ranked mountain on the Earth its hight is 8611 m (28251 ft).

The mountain is covered with white snow through out the year.

This mountain is famous for climbing snow mountains during summer's in Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan.

K2 Baltistan Pakistan

The first ascent of "K2" are Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli in 13 july 1954.This mountain is Icon of death for climber's and most difficult and dangerous mountain to climb.

Mount routes and hurdles:

There are many key difficulties during climbing this mighty mountain.The main and first difficulty is its high altitude due to which resulting in lack of Oxygen.Second difficulty is extrem cold storms, which has resulted in many of deaths on the peak.During winter's many climber's all around the world attempted to climb this mountain but there have been no success during winter's.All the main routes are located in Baltistan Pakistan,where the base camp is located.

The standard route of ascent,used far more than any other,is Abruzzi Spur located on the Baltistan Pakistan side.

Other routes are west Ridge route, southwest route,Northwest Face route,Cesen route.
