The Karakoram mountains range

Karakoram mountain range is a large mountain range. This mountain range is spread in three countries Pakistan, India and China. Location of this range is in Gilgit-Baltistan (Pakistan), Ladakh (India) and Xinjiang (China). This range is called greater range of Asia.

This range is home of high peaks. The mighty K2 (8611 m) second highest peak of the world is part of this range, located in Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan.

This range is about 500 km in length, and is covered with snow. This range is most heavily glaciated part of the world. The Siachen glacier at 70 km and the Biafo glacier at 63 km is also part of this mighty mountain range and rank as the worlds second and third longest glaciers outside the polar regions. Almost 28-50 % of this range is glaciated.
